COPY CAT CHIC

Copy Cat Chic Room Redo | Black & White Living Room

· Audrey

Perhaps it’s the current flood of New York Fashion Week photos that leave me drawn to this perfectly chic, black and white space. Gorgeously minimalistic ensembles keep popping up on my Instagram feed, inspiring a trend towards interior design that is equally timeless and unfussy. Clean-lined furnishings, glamorous accents, natural touches–what’s not to like about this space from Domaine Home? Plus, like a fashionable outfit, this room can be (and probably is) beautifully composed from a mix of high and low pieces.

I must insist you go “low” with the copycat IKEA shelves (they’re just too good), but the rest of this redo is up to your shopping savvy! West Elm’s bentwood stool is a perfect match, and I keep coming back to this unbelievably affordable skirted sofa. Online retailer RugsUSA does it again with its constant and irresistible sales, and the savings on the rug allowed me to splurge on a high-end pillow (or two!) from the fabulous Arianna Belle. Those magazines stacks have me wishing I’d hoarded instead of recycling, but I suppose there are always more out there to be devoured…

sofa $409
chair $336
shelves $49
rug (on sale now!) $210
sconce $150
mirror $196
TOTAL

$1,659
