With Thanksgiving this week, I’ve starting thinking ahead to Christmas! Yay Christmas! What holiday decor trends are you seeing (and loving) this year? I’m finding that I’m still loving metallics, just like last year. But I’m liking more subtle metallics, like the soft shimmer of champagne or a slight hint of gold. I’m really fond of combining a bit of sparkle with some rustic natural accents. I loved this inspiration image I found on Pinterest (source unknown), and I thought I’d recreate it. You know how much I adore neutral shades and great textures!

  1. I have noticed a lot of silver this year, rather than gold. Also natural decorations, simple greenery, Small real trees In pots. EleGant, not rustic.

  6. I am thinking about a very plain Christmas this year WE JUST SOLD OUR HOUSE AND ALL OF OUR BELONGINGS ARE IN STORAGE TILL OUR HOUSE IS FINISHED. PROBABLY A SMALL LIVE TREE WITH SOME FESTIVE SILVER AND GOLD BOWS. THANKS K

  7. I’m loving all the cosy BLANKETS with huge pom poms and the beautiful flocked Christmas trees!

  15. I love using more silver and gold; it works better with our house colors, so the decorations fit in more naturally with what I already have.

  16. I have lots of gold Christmas decor, but now love to see that I can mix silver with it to change it up!

  17. I am really into the nordic chrt trend…greenery in rustic potseucalyptus wreaths, etc. makes me exci to decorate!

  20. I am so excited about the blanket scarves this year in plaid. Christmas would be a red plaid of course. Also, I plan to bring in a lot of evergreen boughs to create a great scent with scented wax melts and candles.

  25. My favorite Christmas trend is DIY gift tags and DIY packaging/wrapping! It makes gifts truly personal and unique.

  33. I was at Target the other day and saw alot of rustic themed ornaments. The country feeling seems to be in this year in my area.

  40. My favorite christmas trend is mixed metallics! I love how i can add to my collection of gold and silver ornaments and they blend seamlessly. I’d love to add some rose gold and copper elements this year. We always go to pier for our holiday decorations!

  81. I really love all the white in the christmas displays I’m seeing this year. Before, it was the background to many displays, but this year it’s a feature on it’s own.

  87. Not typically a “stag” person, but appreciate the classic gold deer you pictured. For whatever reason, the stag plates really caught my eye. Hmmm, i seriously think i’ll have to take a look at them! Thanks for the inspiration.

  91. My favorite trend this year are the vintage-inspired retro 50s-60s look. I see blown glass ornaments, old-school typography on holiday cards…its very peppy and fun.

  97. My favorite trend is the one or two colored tree decorations– my daughter’s tree is all silver and gold while my son’s is silver and navy blue.

  99. I love the Farmhouse Christmas trend! Little boxwood wreaths everywhere! And rustic,vintage decor. Lovely!
