This bedroom is so plush and dramatic, and I loved being able to recreate it this week. There are some very high end pieces in the original, so while the total is a little higher than other rooms as of late, there are some great opportunities to save even money without sacrificing the look of the room. I found a spot-on budget-friendly version of the original nightstand, but there’s nothing to stop you from using one like this that is similar in shape and painting it and adding nail head trim to get the same vibe—I recommend using the trim that comes on a roll in order to get your lines as straight as possible. And let’s talk about that Schumacher wallpaper, shall we? You could buy the real deal (I found a pretty good sale on it HERE, although it’s still $154 per 4.5-yd. roll) and save money by just doing an accent wall, or you can buy the much cheaper stencil and pair it with black paint in a different finish than the one used on the wall in order to add that subtle contrast. Obviously there is a big difference in time spent vs. money spent, so do what works best for your own situation. Finally, consider your own lighting needs—do you need two sconces above your bed as well as tables on the night stands? It’s great to have options, but there’s no sense in buying 3 or 4 light sources for one wall if you don’t actually need them. I have two sconces in my own bedroom in lieu of bedside table lamps and they provide more than enough light—most of the time we only turn one on! I think these and these are pretty killer if you’re looking for a more compact solution than the ones listed below, and they are also cheaper (especially the second one!).
