Copy Cat Chic Room Redo | Chic Multi-Purpose Space

· Audrey

Of all the shelter magazines out there, I am most thrilled when House Beautiful shows up in my mailbox. Every issue manages to artfully straddle the line between attainable and aspirational, providing a plethora of eye candy without making my jaw hit the floor at every item’s price tag. Case in point is this week’s Room Redo (I spy West Elm!), which comes from a sophisticated, feminine apartment that packs a ton of style and color into only 800 square feet. I have a good feeling you’ve seen Pins of the punchy wallpapered entry and kitchen, but this combination dining and office space deserves the spotlight as well for its clever functionality.

The desk can easily be pulled away from the wall to accommodate dinner for four, and a rolling bar cart is ready to serve wherever the party leads. A settee provides extra seating without a huge footprint, while the ever-popular Martini side table is as versatile as it is glamorous. Mixed metals, mixed materials, and mixed prints–this room really goes for it, but the soothing lavender/gray wall color keeps the bolder choices in check. Louis XVI-style chairs will often break the bank, but if you have room for two then World Market has you covered. Happy shopping!
