Copy Cat Chic Room Redo | Bright & Cozy Living Room

Black and white decorating can be intimidating. Will it look too cold? Too graphic? Too monotonous? Fortunately there are beautiful examples out there like this one, from the blog Burlap and Lace, that show how warm and cozy a colorless room can actually be. Texture is usually the missing link in a flat space, but this room’s shaggy Moroccan rug and sheepskin ottoman are the perfect solutions. Brass accents and a fiddle leaf fig never hurt either and are my go-to accents for breathing life into a design.

Forgive me readers, I splurged a little this week! The good news is, two of the above pillows are DIYs from IKEA, so if you live near one you can save even more on this Redo (and don’t forget to grab a faux sheepskin rug there while you’re at it). I love the artwork here from Minted; hang one upside down to create a pair that coordinates but doesn’t match. Ultimately my favorite part of this space is the darling ottoman, which is pretty enough to leave uncovered if you prefer. Happy shopping!
