Copy Cat Chic Room Redo | Textured Modern Bedroom
· Lindsey
Even though this room is supremely minimal, it’s far from boring. The key, of course, is texture. The floor, the rug, and the wallpaper add three very interesting layers and make the room look considered (though not too carefully, which is the key to making it look so effortlessly cool). This is a great look for students, small spaces, or really anyone on a budget; after all, a minimal design scheme just means there’s less stuff for you to buy! You do get to jazz up the ceiling with that great (and unbelievably affordable) chandelier, and you get two more (rather chic) light sources from the sconces. The chairs can of course pull double duty as actual seating if you are pressed for space. As far as art goes, you can just bust out a sharpie or some watercolors and some Ikea RIBBA frames and get to writing if you’re wanting to save yourself some money. In my college drawing classes I would sometimes warm up with writing exercises on giant sheets of paper, practice calligraphy, different writing styles, etc. Sometimes I would write song lyrics, or I would start transcribing a funny conversation my classmates were having, words that popped into my head, doodling shapes, or a combination of all of that…whatever it is, write it down and pop it in a frame. You can always change it out if you need a refresh. And if you’re feeling minimal and cheeky, check out this pineapple print option.
