Lucite Chairs – The choice is clear

· Reichel

Marie Louise posted a comment below in my Zebra Rug post asking about acrylic chair deals. Well, I figured I’d share my finds with the rest of you folks!

Marie Louise is looking for acrylic chairs for her dining room. She brought up the fact that Target has some available right now for only $159.99:

That’s an awesome price for a very retro-cool chair, but she said she’s not quite digging this style. I’m assuming that she’s probably looking for something more similar to the famous Philippe Starck designed Louis Ghost Chair. You can find an authentic Ghost chair at the W Hotel Store for a steal (only $375):

Or if you don’t mind eBay, check out seller smartdiscount, they have some available for $320! Or the Victoria Ghost Chair for only $280.

As for me, I just can’t see myself spending this much on one chair….so I’ve found one for just a tad cheaper from Modani. It’s only $249, a great deal for such a unique chair, dontchya think?

Of course give it 6 months and we’ll probably be able to find a cheaper version at Ikea! 😉 If you guys have seen anything cheaper, feel free to let us know!

  1. Hi! You posted a comment on my blog, but I wasn’t able to find your email address to reply to you… please send me an email at saratams44 at hotmail dot com. Thanks!

  2. Wow! You’re like my personal shopper! Thanks for the mention and the investigative efforts. I love how light these chairs look next to an antique wood table. They don’t compete with the wood grain or take up visual space. I have floor to ceiling windows with a view behind the table and these chairs won’t get in the way. Of course there’s always my husband to convince. He said, “Are they plastic?”
    Sigh…

  3. lol, sounds exactly like my husband 🙂 If you end up buying some, email me a pic, I’d love to see the end result!

  4. I’m obessesed with the Ghost chair and have been ever since I first saw it. So sadly I have just been coveting it for about 5 years. One of these days!

  5. Hi
Was about to splurge on the real Philippe Starck Ghost chair and was bummed to see the prices really bumped up. So now, Im thinking of getting the Modani look alikes and was wondering if you got them. If so, how is the quality/sturdiness? They are quite a bit less expensive.
    Thanks

  6. Overstock.com has what looks just like the ghost chair and the armless one for about 115 apiece! I've been looking forever as well, hopefully the hubby will see the vision! Good luck
