Copy Cat Chic Room Redo | Modern Beach Room Redo
· Lindsey
Today’s fantastic living room is brought to you by Disc Interiors (you’ll need to check out the whole house and put it in your inspiration files ASAP), who refers to the style of the project as “modern Manhattan beach”.
What I think is so unique about the space is that it’s not at all connected to the traditional blue/white palette or seashell and wicker designs that you would normally associate with a beach theme. Rather, the color palette and the use of natural, relaxed textures reminds me of the moody black rock beaches in La Jolla that have never even seen a sandcastle. In college, my best friends and I road tripped to San Diego and spent a lot of time in La Jolla exploring the rocky tide pools and every nook and crevice we could find, the photos of which are still some of my most cherished possessions. There’s just a quiet but powerful beauty to the place, and the designers who brought that feeling into a whole house deserve a slow clap.
