Copy Cat Chic Room Redo | Warm White Living Room
· Lindsey
Today’s warm white living room is photographed by Anson Smart, and appeared in an article about the proper age to stop couch surfing (clearly some of those people have never been in college). My only thoughts on that are that guests in my home have been known to sleep on the couches just to increase their changes of my cat gracing them with a midnight cuddle session. He’s very considerate and also handsome and sophisticated. But I digress!
I love today’s room because it does a fabulous job of showing you how warm whites can brighten a space without adding austerity or coldness. In this case they also serve as the perfect base for incorporating bold stripes and primary reds and yellows without having to do something as anxiety-inducing as committing to the purchase of a yellow couch. It feels like a really daring color palette, but when you break it down, you realize that a huge impact can be made with just a few carefully chosen items. It’s a wonderful way to try out a bold new color scheme, and when you’re ready, you can just as easily switch out your art and pillows to create a completely different room without purchasing new furniture. This is the same strategy used in the workstation design from a few weeks ago. And the best part about the sofa below is that there are several different slipcovers available when you change up your color scheme.
striped pillows $13 (x2)
kantha throw $60
geometric print $36
giraffe print $35
side table $250
sconce $100 (x2)
coffee table $220

TOTAL
$1,438
