Copy Cat Chic Room Redo | Treasure-filled Entry

· Audrey

Browsing Apartment Therapy‘s design features can lead you down a major inspiration (and procrastination!) wormhole–the site’s abundance of content has no shortage of lovely, livable spaces. Case in point is this vibrant and eclectic Chicago foyer by Yana and Petar Puaca. The well-traveled, carefully-collected look may at first seem too luxurious and time-consuming to achieve, but the mix of styles and sources actually makes piecing together your own unique spin on the space a breeze.

I must admit that tracking down brass trunks is no easy feat (especially when Google thinks you’re looking for, ahem, men’s undergarments), plus you could easily spend your entire budget on one. My solution is to gild a square version yourself, which makes the perfect perch for a bag or beautiful stack of books. A tray for mail and keys, baskets for shoes and scarves, and a mirror for touch ups on the way out are all entry essentials, and this mix of glam, natural, and ornate works amazingly well. Add a bit of life with a plant or two and you’re all set!

mirror $184
print $28
rug $300
tray $55
trunk (DIY or larger style here) $139
console $265
lamp $171
vase $30
baskets (each) $89
blanket $15
chandelier $188

TOTAL

$1,464
